System Operation

netVendor is based on the Internet and there is no further software or hardware requirements needed to make a transaction. Simply use a computer that has Internet connectivity or use a cellular phone to make prepayment electricity token.

  • Customer Purchases Themselves via Internet (Internet Café)

This method is used if the customer has registered their banking details on the netVendor system. The customer logs onto the Internet and goes to the netVendor web site.

They must then log on to the system using their account number, meter number or ID number, with their PIN. They simply enter the amount that they wish to purchase for and the rest happens in the background (the money is moved from the customers bank account to the Body Corporates Bank Account), according to the payment option that has been set-up for this customer.

Within a couple of seconds the customer will have their 20-digit token sent to them via e-mail, SMS or displayed on page in front of them which can in turn be printed to a printer. The method of receiving their 20-digit token is completely configurable and can be managed by the customers themselves.

  • Customer Purchases through Merchants via Internet

This method is used if a customer has not registered their banking details on the netVendor system. In this case the merchant (The Body Corporate Offices or Gate Security) would be registered on the netVendor system with a valid banking account. The merchant logs onto the Internet and goes to the netVendor web site. They must then log on to the system using their merchant account number, with their password.

The merchant will then take cash from the customer and they simply enter the customers account number, meter number or ID number and enter the amount the customer wish to purchase for and the rest happens in the background.

Within a couple of seconds the customer will have their 20-digit token sent to them via e-mail, SMS or displayed on the web page, which can be printed to a printer by the merchant. • Customer Purchases Themselves via Cell Phone

This method is used if the customer has registered their banking details on the netVendor system. The customer will send netVendor an SMS detailing their meter number, followed by the amount they wish to purchase for.

Upon receiving the SMS netVendor will process the instruction and debit the customers account according to the method set-up at registration. netVendor will then SMS the prepayment voucher (20-digit token) back to the cell phone they received the request from, or the cell phone number that is recorded in this customer account details on the netVendor system.
